Building Blocks

🧱 Ages 8–10

Building confidence and a strong foundation

At this age, children begin to realize that language is more than just fun – it’s a tool for understanding the world, expressing ideas, and making real connections. Our Building Blocks program is designed to strengthen their skills in a way that’s both structured and engaging.

We continue to focus on speaking and listening, while gradually introducing more reading, writing, and useful vocabulary – not just for school, but for real-life communication. Through pair work, games, interactive tasks, and regular review, children become more confident and begin using English more naturally and independently.

A Cambridge-based curriculum

With a clear goal: B1 level by age 14

Children aged 8–10 learn using the Power Up series from Cambridge University Press – a course that bridges the early learning years with more advanced language development in upper primary. Each level builds systematically toward independent language use and follows the international CEFR framework.

Our long-term goal is for children who start with us at age 5 to reach B1 level (Pre-Intermediate) by the age of 14 – equivalent to the level expected at the end of Polish high school. With consistent lessons, high-quality materials, and the support of experienced teachers, this is not just a goal – it’s a realistic path.

🕒 Lesson Schedule

One 90-minute lesson per week, with a short break halfway through.

This format strikes the right balance – enough time to truly engage with the language and make progress, without overwhelming young learners after school. It keeps learning effective, regular, and fun.

What comes next?

After completing the Building Blocks program, children are ready to join our Confident Communicators (ages 11–14) group – where they’ll deepen their skills and move confidently toward achieving B1 level and beyond.
